POSITION:
Technical Writer
RESPONSIBILITY LEVEL:
The candidate will have at least 3-5 years process Service Management focused authoring experience and should be skilled in the following:
PRINCIPLE DUTIES:
- Develop written procedures and documentation from oral interviews at all levels and following established formats and standards. (Process Maps, SOPs, Work Instructions, etc.)
- Follow procedures for document development, editing, review, approval and filing. Identify, Document, Escalate, Resolve questions and issues that arise during review process
- Ensure technical and procedural accuracy and trace-ability of all documentation
- Understand and incorporate into all procedures, the required standards and regulatory requirements such as OSHA requirements, safety guidelines, XXXXXX Corporate policies, etc.
- Administer document routing and reviewing while maintaining adherence to the established tracking procedure for all documents
- Clerical duties such as data entry, organizing project documentation, filing, library inventory management, etc.
- The ability to translate technical functions / features into process driven user friendly materials to support daily Infrastructure and Engineering operations.
- Development of written communication materials for in-house usage, including socialization materials and presentation materials.
JOB DESCRIPTION:
The individual will be responsible for creating operational documentation in support of XXXXXX operating model implementation and fulfillment processes. They will be expected to work closely with other technical writers, business analysts, and project managers within the organization. The individual will assist in the development of Process Maps, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Work Instructions (WIs), Communications Documents, Training Materials regarding processes, and in-house communication articles, etc. The individual will be expected to manage the document lifecycle from draft through to fully approved status in the document repository, including versioning control. Additionally, this candidate will participate and document outcomes from working sessions and process development sessions.
This position requires all work be completed on-site.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor’s degree in English, or Journalism or equivalent experience
- May require an understanding of industry specific processes, other regulatory agency principles, documentation practices and validation requirements
- Demonstrated oral and written communication skills
- Excellent word processing skills and research skills required
- Experience with Microsoft Office including Visio
- Able to deal with personnel at all levels and backgrounds
- Detail oriented
- Experience with ITIL Service Support process development
- ITIL Foundation Certification (Prefer)
- Microsoft word processing, spreadsheets, database, flowcharting tools, and PowerPoint presentation skills
- Time management, work organisation, priority setting for tasks
- Team work, listening, and independent work.
